THE FUTURE UNIVERSITY AND THE ARAB ACADEMY OF SCIENCES.
The President of the University attended the Annual Conference of the Arab Academy of Sciences (AAS) (http://www.arabacs.org) that took place in Beirut from 4-6 November 2016.
The meeting was attended by the majority of AAS members as well as by a number of invited speakers and guests. (See photo).
Dr. El Tayeb present a paper on the Internationalization of Higher Education in the Arab World (see PowerPoint). It should be noted that the Future University is a co-organizer and a sponsor of this annual conferences. The President of the AAS acknowledged the contribution of the University in his address.
The Future University & COP22
The President of the University, Dr. El Tayeb Mustafa participated in the activities of the COP22, which was held in Marakkech, Morocco during the first half of November 2016. The President was a panelist in the event organized by the Hassan II Academy of Science and Technology. The event-grouped the presidents of selected African Universities (public and private) and the presidents and Secretary-General of National Science Academies. (see photo)
COP22 was very well organized and had a high quality interventions. In addition to the scientific and academic parts, a high level segment was attended by a large number of heads of states. Sudan was present in the high level segment in the person of the President of the Republic.
It should be noted that Dr. El Tayeb, in addition to representing the Future University, has also represented SNAS in his capacity as the Secretary-General.
The Future University and Omdurman Municipality to design a Park in Al-Morada
Within the framework of the project: “Omdurman Cultural Corridor”, the Future University, Faculty of Architecture and the Minicipality of Omdurman agreed to work together to design a park in Al-Morada.
This project was first proposed by Architect Osman El Khair. The Future University agreed to be the focal point. During the last two years Architect from the Future University, University of Khartoum, Sudan University for Science and Technology, Omdurman Islamic University as well as the Azhari University worked together to elaborate a plan for a Nile Street and revive this important park in Omdurman. The work was supported by Architects from University of Venice who are working at the Future University.
