About

The Faculty of Art and Design develops highly skilled individuals using state-of-the-art facilities and a novel, digital approach. It is a home of excellence and innovation across many fields of art, multimedia, and design.

The Faculty is committed to educate individuals whose strengths are in arts based around expertise with computers such as: web site design, graphic design, animation, video production. The students will still have a strong base in traditional art and design theory but the grounding in IT application will distinguish them as leaders of the future of their fields. The programs prepare students for professional careers by emphasizing critical thinking, innovation, and formal design.

Foreword from the Faculty Dean

The Faculty of Art and Design is considered to be one of the best faculties in Sudan that will contribute to advancement of Graphic design and painting work. It is the first of its type in Sudan which established a link between fine and applied art, linking both to the most advanced means of information and communication technologies, so as to enable students to compete in the internal and external labor markets. We assure to provide all necessary support to our students.

Vision and Mission

The FAD envisions being the place where thought, creation and action, artistic and scientific articulation, dialogue, and critical expression are natural demands in human knowledge that emphasizes the modern art of the new generation.

As a driving force for FAD, we are convinced that practice and theory can be reconciled in the creative process, coexistence of applied and autonomous ideas that communicate with outside world in expressing critical point of view, develop a conscious creative personalities who are capable of giving high-quality solutions to problems in their professional field and research as well as develop students' ability to adapt to local and international models and emphasize the importance of a culture-based identity.





Admission Requirements



To be admitted in any degree program of the Faculty of Engineering, the student must have one of the following certificates:

  • Sudan School Certificate (academic-technical-commercial)
  • Equivalent School Certificate from Arab Countries
  • Egyptian Secondary School Certificates and any other foreign certificates

  • Admission of student percentage of the grades or scores attained in the following subjects: Arabic language, Religious Studies, English, Additional Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and subjects like Computer Science or Engineering Science.


    B.Sc. (Hons) in Creative Multimedia

    B.Sc. (Honors) in Creative Multimedia encompasses a new generation of multimedia specialists and professionals who are not only skilled in the technology of digital media but also versed in the art of storytelling and integrating a multiplicity of media forms.

    The program is focused on the study of current technologies and skills for effective management in the fields of multimedia system and technology.

    The B.Sc. (Hons) in Creative Multimedia will generate a new generation of multimedia specialists and professionals who are not only skilled in the technology of digital media but also versed in the art of storytelling and able to integrate a range of media. The program makes use of the latest technology and alsofocuses on skills for effectively managing teams working on multimedia productions.

    The students are encouraged to develop their potential in critical thinking, innovation and the capacity to integrate technology and creativity. They are also trained to understand the business environment in which media industries operate. In addition to the mastery over the technological skills, they will be well-equipped to fill the leading positions and face challenges from the ever-changing media landscape.

    Learning Outcomes

    The maim aim of program is produce creative multimedia students who are professionals and able:

  • To develop the creative and intellectual competence required of future leaders of the media and creative industry.
  • Ability to apply principles of bioinformatics analysis to solve problems at the interface of information technology, computer science and medicine.
  • To nourish a critical and up-to-date understanding of contemporary issues in the media and creative industry, an awareness of and sensitivity to the international nature of key issues, and a capacity to view developments in a broader social, political and economic perspective.
  • To equip students with knowledge of artistic and technological development in relevant areas with an emphasis on the creative processes involved.

  • B.Sc. (Hons) in Graphic Design

    B.Sc. (Honors) in Graphic Design produce a graphic designer whos role is to effectively communicate messages through the artful manipulation of typography and imagery to an intended audience. It's a digital creative process that combines art with computer technology in rendering content into meaningful visual forms. The Graphic Design program is designed to provide you with an exceptional creative environment. Our goal is to develop your conceptual thinking skills and become good visual communicators and balance those skills with computer proficiency.

  • B.Sc. (Hons) in Interior Design

    The Interior Design program advances and enriches students mental faculties so they become creative, skillful characters able to design functional, ergonomic and beautiful buildings and objects. The long-term objective of this program is to increase the awareness of the general public of the importance of interior design and how it adds beauty and freshness to interiors. The graduates from this department can work with an established design office or even start up their own company.
